Curious about who Jesus is?

Christianity Explored is a discussion-based course about the essential issues of the Christian faith:

  • “Who is Jesus?”
  • “Why did he come?”
  • “What does this mean to me?”

Christianity Explored introduces Jesus as he walks off the pages of Mark’s Gospel. Each two-hour session features a lively talk, a good meal, and lots of discussion with no pressure.

It’s a great place for people who prefer to discuss their ideas, ask questions in a relaxed setting, and then decide for themselves what they will do with what they’ve learned.

Many newcomers to Village Seven Presbyterian Church have found the course to be helpful in clarifying their own personal understanding about Jesus. Village Seven members regularly invite their neighbors, friends, co-workers, and family members to attend Christianity Explored with them because they may freely discuss the deep issues about life and faith in a setting of hospitality and mutual respect.

Christianity Explored has been effective as an evangelistic outreach because it invites people to discuss their understanding of and opinions about the person of Jesus without fear of being put down by confrontive people. Rather, it is the Gospel of Mark itself which confronts the curious with the claims of Christ himself. In the end, people realize that they must decide for themselves what they will do with this new and clearer picture of the person of Jesus.
