Mark Bates was born in Birmingham, Alabama, but spent most of his childhood in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. He and his wife, Tricia, have three daughters—Allison, Ashley, and Anna Katherine. Mark is a graduate of Bryan College (B.A. in Greek) and has his Master's Degree from Reformed Theological Seminary. He served as Youth and Singles Pastor at Orangewood Presbyterian Church in Maitland, Florida. In 1991, Mark and Tricia founded University Presbyterian Church in Orlando. Then in July of 2007, Mark accepted the call to Village Seven. As Senior Pastor, Mark's primary responsibilities are leadership and preaching.
Children’s Ministries Director
Abby grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from the University of Minnesota, Morris. She married George in 2001, and then it was time to move to Colorado Springs for a teaching job. George and Abby have two children. Abby learned of Village Seven through the ministry of MOPS. She joined the staff in 2013. She leads an incredible team serving the children of Village Seven and our community. Abby likes to photograph and scrapbook her family’s everyday adventures.
A Colorado native, Page has served for many years in management of natural gas companies. He and his wife Sarah have been a part of V7 since 1983. They’ve served in many capacities in the church, most recently as mentor couple in our Catalyst community, where Page is also the elder. As Director of Mobilization, Page works to equip members and regular attenders to engage in fruitful areas of ministry service. They have three grown children, Jonathan, studying at Covenant Seminary; Jane Anne, married and living in Phoenix; and Joey, who lives here in Colorado Springs and is part of Village Seven.
Bryan graduated from Covenant College in 1998, and then taught Bible to middle and high school students at Shannon Forest Christian School in Greenville, SC. Bryan and his wife Erika then moved to St. Louis, where Bryan attended Covenant Seminary. Bryan interned here at V7 in 2003, and upon graduation in 2004 he and Erika returned to V7.
Melinda was born in the Dominican Republic, where her parents were missionaries. She has lived in Canada, Miami, and South Carolina. She attended Trinity Christian College in Chicago, where she played college volleyball and earned a degree in graphic design. Melinda spent a year in the Dominican Republic teaching at an orphanage. She also loves all things outdoors. Her dream is to one day travel the world in a VW van.
Resident Church Planter
Vincent Hoppe grew up in New Mexico and went to NMSU (B.A., Goverment). He and his wife Holly have four kids - Israel, Grace, Aidalie, and Gloria. After working in campus ministry with Cru for ten years, Vincent received his MDiv at Covenant Theological Seminary. Vince has a keenness for seeing the beauty of the Gospel bring healing to the world’s brokenness. In his free time Vince loves playing with his kids, cooking, sports, reading, playing trivia, and fly-fishing.
Worship, Music and the Arts Director
Richard longs to help people meet God in authentic, life-changing worship. He was born in Waco, Texas, and grew up as a child of missionaries in the Philippines. He is a graduate of Wayland Baptist University, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and the Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies. Before coming to V7 in 2004, Richard served churches in Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. He and his wife, Margaret, have three grown children, one in heaven. When it's time to relax, Richard loves to head to the mountains on his motorcycle.
College and Western Seminary Training Director
Steve Kammer is a Colorado native, raised right here in Colorado Springs. He and his wife Kendra have three boys – Owen, Teo and Kai. He graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder and is currently working his way through seminary with Western Seminary Training. Steve and Kendra were on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ for 15 years and Steve has led the college group at V7 since 2005. Steve continues to direct the college ministry as well as Western Seminary Training, a local seminary program designed to provide theological training and ministry preparation while in a local church environment. He loves spending time with his family and in the outdoors as well as watching God use the gospel of grace to transform lives.
Students and Families Pastor
Drew grew up in Lancaster, PA, where he earned a degree in Philosophy at Penn State University. Drew attended Covenant Seminary in St. Louis, where he married Jennifer. He eventually earned the Doctor of Ministry degree. In 2010, Drew joined our family in ministering to students and has the privilege of assisting our church body accomplish her calling in the discipleship of our young people. He and Jen have a boy, Logan, and a girl, Olive, who have become mascots for our youth ministry. Drew enjoys tinkering on his Jeep, driving up in the mountains, and rock climbing. As the Students and Families Pastor, Drew oversees the youth ministry as well as assisting our church body accomplish her calling in the discipleship of our students.
Girls' Discipleship Coordinator
Erin was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. She received an Art Education degree from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. Over the years, Erin has taught private art lessons and both middle school and high school art in public schools in the Colorado Springs area. Erin loves the local church and enjoys enthusiastically connecting with kids and families in the youth ministry and the surrounding community. Erin desires to support students and families in deepening their relationships with God and she accomplishes that by overseeing the discipleship of our girls, trains and supports our volunteer leaders, teaches Bible and helps plan all youth events. In her spare time, Erin enjoys hiking, biking, drawing, and throwing pottery on the wheel.
Carl was born in Los Angeles and grew up in Manitou Springs. He attended the University of Denver and received his B.S. in Business Administration in 1973. He then attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, receiving his Master of Divinity in 1978. Carl began pastoring churches in Colorado in 1979 and came to Village Seven in December of 2007. He has served as a volunteer chaplain with the Colorado Springs Police Department since 1983. He and Marti have four children and four grandchildren.
Guys' Discipleship Coordinator
Evan is a Colorado Springs native. Having volunteered in youth ministry for five years, he sensed a clear call from the Lord to full-time youth ministry. Evan attended Colorado Christian University, where he received his B.S. in Organizational Management and Christian Leadership and a Certificate of Biblical Studies. He is now pursuing a Master of Divinity at Denver Seminary. Evan enjoys hiking with his wife, son and dogs, mountain biking, skiing, running, and following Red Sox baseball. His greatest passions are studying the Bible and building relationships with young students and their families.

Tim was born and raised in Ohio. He and his wife Jeannie have four grown daughters and four grandchildren. Tim joined the V7 staff after retirement from the high tech industry. He has worked in technology R&D, purchasing, operations, property management, and the mortgage industry. Tim's responsibilities include managing the custodial and maintenance team, facility usage, and IT for the entire campus. His hobbies include playing the organ as well as being a news junkie and a foodie. He studied at Heidelberg College, The American Hellenic Institute Athens, Loyola Rome, and the University of Toledo.
Don earned a Bachelor of Religious Education from William Tyndale College in 1982, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan in 1984, and a Master of Divinity from New Geneva Theological Seminary in 1997. Don has served on the staff of a large church in Michigan, spent eight years as the Director of Administration for Mission Training International, and eight years as Administrator for the AD2000 & Beyond Movement. Don oversees the areas of budget & finance, personnel & policy, stewardship, buildings and grounds and communications. Don and his wife, Lisa, have four children.
Young Adults Discipleship Director
Lee grew up in Memphis, TN. He attended Western Kentucky University and now is getting his MDiv at Denver Seminary. For the past six years, Lee was in full time youth ministry at Second Presbyterian Church in Memphis, TN. He met his Colorado-native wife, Becky, at Pine Cove Christian Camps in Tyler, TX. They have a little girl named Stevie. Becky is a counseling professor at Colorado Christian University. As the young adults director, Lee gets to shepherd, lead, and teach the young adult communities of Village Seven. Lee enjoys playing sports, running, disc golf, skiing, and playing guitar. He is also a big fan of the Reds, the Bengals, and the Bear Cats.
Adult Discipleship Pastor
Rich Wolfe and his wife Lori have been faithfully attending Village Seven since 1989. Rich earned his Doctorate in Ministry from Columbia International University. He has worked with Mission to the World (MTW) since 1992. Much of his ministry has been training and developing leaders. Rich is passionate about believers engaging with the gospel in such a way that they mature in Christ and make disciples of others.
