Welcome to Student Ministry
1) support the families of Village Seven,
2) engage the church family in their ministry to teens, and
3) make, equip and deploy young disciples into Colorado Springs, the West and the world.
An Old Paradigm
We have decided to take a new approach to youth ministry at Village Seven. Well, that's not completely true. It's actually as old as the Bible itself... one that emphasizes intergenerational relationships. Without question, the most important people in the lives of children are their parents. We also believe that each child is entitled to the care of the larger church body and deserve meaningful relationships with safe and appropriately trained adult members of the congregation. Within this context, we desire to make, equip and deploy young disciples into Colorado Springs, the West and the world!
Foundations and Framework
1) ROOTED in the Gospel
2) SENT as the family of God showing fruit in the following three relational focal points.
3) FRUITFUL in three focal points:
*Upward in relationship with God
*Inward in relationship with one another, and
*Outward in relationship with the world.
Rooted in the Gospel
The gospel is the point of contact where life receives a new trajectory. The most wonderful news is that God is committed to restoring and renewing His people and His world! He does not need our help but has enlisted us in this great mission as His children. His love for us frees us to live life... real life... with a mission!
Fruit in Relationship with God (Upward)
We are not merely made legally right before God, but also relationally right as His children. We are guaranteed a hope and a future because of Christ’s work and God’s heart towards us as His beloved children.
Fruit in Relationship with His Church (Inward)
We have been freed to live authentically together, more concerned with His Kingdom than our own. Within this context, we mature as followers of Christ who are on mission together.
Fruit in Relationship with His World (Outward)
We have been given purpose in the Father's Kingdom, we are sent forth into the brokenness of this world as agents of redemption and messengers of hope. The gospel is news that produces fruit... in every nook and cranny of our lives and the world in which we live.
