DEACONS

Deacons are ordained officers of the church called to serve the sick, the widows, the needy, the friendless, and any who may be in distress.

Deacon Apprentices are men who have completed the necessary officer training required by Village Seven Presbyterian Church, and then one year of apprenticeship prior to ordination.

Deacon Assistants are men and women who have successfully completed Village Seven’s School of Mercy Ministry, required interviews and approvals, and have been appointed to serve the body of Christ by assisting the Deacons in their ministry.

Financial Assistance
For those who are suffering primarily short-term financial needs (e.g. rent, mortgage, medical bills, utilities, home and automobile maintenance) where, due to unfortunate circumstances, they cannot meet commitments. A benevolence request form should be obtained either from a member of the Diaconate or from the church office, in person. Please call the church office for more information.

Food Cards

Counseling/Encouragement
Actively encourage those who God places in our path that need encouragement. Refer clients where appropriate, to selected professional counselors for spiritual, financial, marital, medical and mental counseling. Where able, provide encouragement, very basic listening and guidance as appropriate. A benevolence request form should be obtained either from a member of the Diaconate or from the church office, in person. Please call the church office for more information.
